Stay Awhile 04:23
-Stay Awhile- You say you’re not ready for this Well, what is this That you’re not ready for? You keep your distance You hold me at arm’s length Don’t let me get too close Or you’re walking out that door Why must you make this more than It’s had the chance to be? Why don’t you just Stay awhile. What is your hurry? Stay awhile. Why is it you must go? We’re just two people; why can’t you Stay awhile. That’s all that I’m asking Stay awhile Don’t you know love needs time to grow? Or do you know that’s why you go? You pack your future in a box with things Meant for another day Another year But when you want what you want Will it still be there? Oh, will it still be there When you put aside your fear? It doesn’t happen that way The future is built on today so Stay awhile. What is your hurry? Stay awhile. Why is it you must go? We’re just two people; why can’t you Stay awhile. That’s all that I’m asking Stay awhile Don’t you know love needs time to grow? Or do you know that’s why you go? How do you know we’re not the Us you’ll need for all your life If you never even take the time to stay? Stay awhile. That’s all that I’m asking Stay awhile Don’t you know love needs time to grow? Or do you know that’s why you go? Oh, please don’t go

-Falling Apart- Too many voices in my head Think of the things I should have said I’ve been waiting for a long time Wondering if I got it right Guess it’s another sleepless night Can’t seem to get past all I’ve been through There’s a song in my heart that needs singing I’ve been waiting to bring it Forget all this approval and pleasing I’ve been trying so hard that I’m Falling apart at the seams But I’m not giving up on all my dreams I’ve been knocked down I’ve been pushed around Yet somehow I’m caught in between Lately I’ve been wondering why I never asked just what— What’s in it for me? Taking some time to clear my thoughts But these decisions come with cost I’ve been waiting for a long time Don’t even know what I believe Are these ideas from you or me? I need the freedom just to live my life There’s a song in my heart that needs singing I’ve been waiting to bring it Forget all this approval and pleasing I’ve been trying so hard that I’m Falling apart at the seams But I’m not giving up on all my dreams I’ve been knocked down I’ve been pushed around Yet somehow I’m caught in between Lately I’ve been wondering why I never asked just what— What’s in it for me? Gotta stop being so hard on myself Oh it’s not you—yeah, it’s me Got to find my voice, got to make a choice Who am I supposed to be—yeah, what is in it for me?
3.
-My Something Different- This time I promised myself Things would be different if I fell Something that makes me stronger Something that knocks me off my feet Something that makes me want to Be all the best parts of me If you’re wondering how I’m feeling When I say this Let me let you in ‘cause You are my love You are something beautiful and You make my life complete You are just what this girl needs Can’t you see? That you are my something different This time my life’s about me Not changing my ways just to agree Love must be such a new thing All of the things I’ve never had Secrets and lies, who needs them? It’s gotta be better than that Oh, I’m wondering what you’re feeling When I say this Please let me in ‘cause You are my love You are something beautiful and You make my life complete You are just what this girl needs Can’t you see? That you are my something different Over & over I tried to keep finding a love that fit Now you’re here I think this could be it, yeah You are my love You are something beautiful and You make my life feel complete So happy now; I found you You are just what this girl needs Can’t you see? That you are my something different
4.
-You Love Me Anyhow- In this world of madness Sometimes I don’t even recognize myself Searching through the missing persons Seems all I find is someone else So how’d you ever find me? And give me back the freedom to believe? With all this hurt to trust again I thought that it could never be but I love The way you’ve opened my heart And I love That it’s not ‘someday’ but ‘now’ Even when I don’t know why You love me anyhow Now your arms surround me When all I’d ever known was such uncertainty In this craziness you ground me Please tell me that you’ll never leave ‘cause I love The way you’ve opened my heart And I love That it’s not ‘someday’ but ‘now’ Even when I don’t know why You love me anyhow I’d learned to live without someone Better alone than all my hopes undone But the ups the downs, the joys, the sorrows Your love’s for keeps not something borrowed Oh, baby, I love The way you’ve opened my heart And I love That it’s not ‘someday’ but ‘now’ Even when I don’t know why Even when I don’t know why You love me anyhow
5.
-What It Means to Be Loved- I’ve been waiting Please don’t keep me So far away Do you know What love looks like? It’s all around you every day And I don’t know What time will show, But I want you to know What it means to be loved Searching for a feeling When you find it, Will you be free? Love is so much more Than just a feeling It’s an action Or it’s incomplete And I don’t know What time will show, But I want you to know What it means to be loved There are all kinds of love out there It begins with you and me You’ve been searching But love’s found you Look around, look around Take a good look around ‘Cause here I am I’m reaching out my hand Wanting you, wanting you just To believe again And I don’t know What time will show, But I want you to know What it means to be loved What it means to be loved

Here We Are 05:28
-Here We Are- Here we are Is there something left to say? We could leave it here But we just can’t walk away Maybe this time will be different from the last I keep telling myself that Yet, here we are Once again here in this place Like the evening news Same old story, different face Though I’ve tried, tried to change the way I feel Is it any wonder ‘cause we’re people Just two people We’ve grown into very different people Or was it all illusions, mirrors? Was it ever any clearer? Remind me, remind me Remind me now Tell me what we were all about Here we are Once again here in this place Like a dead end road Only out’s the way we came If we just could learn something from the years Perhaps there’s freedom in that we’re people Just two people We’ve grown into very different people Or was it all illusions, mirrors? Was it ever any clearer? Remind me, remind me Remind me now Tell me what we were all about Remind me, remind me now, oh Remind me, remind me Remind me now Though my mind keeps saying ‘run,’ but then my heart— Oh… here we are

Every Day 04:10
-Every Day- I wake up and I look at you I watch you sleep You're beautiful in every way I think if I could stay right here And feel you breathe This love would always stay But life floods us with distractions And we might be far away But all the things that I am needing You can give me every day I don't need expensive things I just want to feel your heart Miles may come between us dear But you can make them disappear All I really need is to hear from you My love for you, it grows And I need for you to know It's not about you being more 'Cause all you have to give to me Is all I'll ever really need Just let go Tell me what you feel inside 'Cause I can see All the love when you are here When I look into your eyes Your love's so strong It almost takes away my fears Just wait until tomorrow But I can't get past today If love is in your heart then tell me Show you love me every day Every day, every day Every day
8.
-In Front of my Eyes- Again I’m falling, I’m falling to pieces Scattered across the floor And just when I think it’s over And I can’t take anymore You wrap your arms ‘round me and say Take it one day at a time Your voice warms me to the core Your eyes make me see what’s worthwhile If it’s always raining There’s sunshine in your smile I can’t go on complaining When all I need Is in front of my eyes Another day, another day older I catch myself in a sigh And when I think about the future Why do I break down and cry? ‘Cause, baby, you know that I love you You bring out the best parts of me When my life gets so overwhelming You strengthen my weakest beliefs If it’s always raining There’s sunshine in your smile I can’t go on complaining When all I need Is in front of my eyes Nothing stays the same Wandering through the years When I feel like walking away Time and again you keep shattering all my fears, Oh If it’s always raining There’s sunshine in your smile I can’t go on complaining When all I need Is in front of my eyes In front of my eyes If it’s always raining There’s sunshine in your smile Can’t go on complaining When you’re in front of my eyes You wrap your arms ‘round me Just take it one day at a time You know that I love you You make my life worthwhile Oh, there is sunshine in your smile In front of my eyes In front of my eyes
9.
-Ready to Give You Love- I’ve been out of my mind Since you said goodbye I guess that I can’t really blame you I know we’re not getting younger So what hung these weights on my tongue? I just hope it’s not too late to tell you That I love you. I love you And I’m ready to give you love I am ready to give you love I am ready to give you love All my life Seeing the warmth of your smile, now I See it was worthwhile To go out on a limb and just say it For a moment I saw my life Without you, oh baby, I Don’t know why it took so long to tell you That I love you. I love you And I’m ready to give you love I am ready to give you love I am ready to give you love All my life You’re that something good I couldn’t see Standing right next to me You must think I took you for granted Now the future is oh so clear Baby, I see it’s all right here And I’m ready to give you love I am ready to give you love I am ready to give you love All my life I am ready to give you love I am ready to give you love I am ready to give you love All my life Oh, I’m ready to give you love all my life
10.
-All That Matters Now- It doesn’t matter where you’ve been Just as long as you’re here now It doesn’t matter what you’ve done I’ll still love you anyhow All the years I wasted on the dream That he would be the one who’s meant for me It’s been a long road to you Gone are the things I held onto But all that matters now All that matters now is you Tell me why do dreams appear Only to melt away Just when you’re getting to the good part Suddenly it is day But now I have much more than just a dream Your love is more ‘cause it’s reality It’s been a long road to you Gone are the things I held onto But all that matters now All that matters now is you All the years I wasted on the dream That he would be the one who’s meant for me It’s been a long road to you Gone are the things I held onto But all that matters now All that matters now is you It doesn’t matter where you’ve been All my life ‘cause you’re here now
11.
-Seems Like Rain- You broke the mundane Like the sweet dawn of the morning But I should have known That this joy was only a warning for the pain And endless shadows filled with rain Now my life is the same As before, without a story I can barely make out The road that is before me; It seems to me That’s how my life is going to be Through the bluest skies Boy, you had me flying high And blue— That’s how I find myself When I think of you, think of you Forever is just a word Why is it so hard to define it? If my life still goes on without you I guess it’s time that is defiant Or can it be that I was so falsely assured? Through the bluest skies Boy, you had me flying high And blue— That’s how I find myself When I think of you, think of you Through the bluest skies Boy, you had me flying high And blue— That’s how I find myself When I think of you, think of you They say the sun will be out today I don’t know, I just can’t believe them For all I see Are endless shadows filled with rain With rain… with rain
12.
‘Cause, baby, you know that I love you You bring out the best parts of me When my life gets so overwhelming You strengthen my weakest beliefs If it’s always raining There’s sunshine in your smile I can’t go on complaining When all I need Is in front of my eyes Nothing stays the same Wandering through the years When I feel like walking away Time and again you keep shattering all my fears, Oh If it’s always raining There’s sunshine in your smile I can’t go on complaining When all I need Is in front of my eyes In front of my eyes If it’s always raining There’s sunshine in your smile Can’t go on complaining When you’re in front of my eyes You wrap your arms ‘round me Just take it one day at a time You know that I love you You make my life worthwhile Oh, there is sunshine in your smile In front of my eyes In front of my eyes

about

"Ready to Give You Love" is the first single from Tara Hawley's album Stay Awhile. (See individual song links for song lyrics and credits for each track.)

Bonus: Digital Lyric Booklet is included with purchase digital album.

Recorded with producer Jim Wirt (known for his work w/ platinum selling artists such as Fiona Apple and Hoobastank), Tara Hawley’s long-anticipated, original-song album Stay Awhile brings a breath of fresh air to the modern pop scene. Infused with jazz, rock, and soul, Tara’s melodic, poetic tunes (all written or co-written by Tara) don’t fall slave to current pop trends but carve out their own niche.

The first single “Ready to Give You Love" is full of trumpets, jazzy rhythms, and tight harmonies, giving listeners a glimpse of her debut record. The song—inspired by her love of jazz and the classic pop songs of the late 60’s and early 70’s—captures a vintage, upbeat vibe with a fresh twist.

Filled with deep lyrics that don’t feel heavy and catchy hooks that will keep you coming back for more, this album is another great example that traditionally crafted music can still be mainstream. Grand piano, trumpets, cello, acoustic bass, guitars, and more make these songs come to life. Giving nods to previous decades in style and delivery, Stay Awhile remains classic and refined while creating fresh vistas for its listeners. And, not least of all, Tara’s smooth, sultry vocals will quickly capture your attention as her interpretations draw you in – the perfect complement to this original material.

“I’ve always been especially drawn to lyrical, melodic songs,” says Tara, “that, even if they are upbeat and fun, have a story to tell … I’ve also been so inspired by performers who are also great interpreters and can make you feel a song. It’s always the best compliment I can receive: that someone felt something deeply as they listened to one of my songs or performances. Great art is really about communication and baring a little of our souls, whether we are in the role of artist or audience. It celebrates the moments of beauty and vulnerability that connect us all. I'm so excited to have you to share in a little bit of my story, and I hope it helps you feel that you're not alone in this fantastic, crazy journey called life.”
